The manufacturer might be unwilling to repair your device, or the prices of replacement products may rise significantly as they become obsolete. Unfortunately, there are often no direct substitutes available on the market, leaving you with no choice but to pay exorbitant prices.

1A) Hong Kong Electric Co., Ltd – https://www.hkelectric.com/

HK Electric is the sole electricity provider to 590,000 commercial and residential customers on Hong Kong Island.

Product for Redesign: Earth & Phase Fault Indicator

Due to the obsolescence of the existing fault indicator, a redesign was necessary to create a new fault indicator capable of detecting phase and earth faults. The new design features an 80 ms current pickup delay for fault detection, along with the ability to identify instantaneous faults without any delay. This detector can be operational within 10 minutes after power has been cut off.

The Mass Transit Railway (MTR) is a major public transport metro network serving Hong Kong.

Product for Redesign: Door Open Indicator Lamp Module (DOIL)

The existing DOIL has become obsolete. Our redesign focused on creating a new Door Open Indicator Lamp (DOIL) Module with enhanced IP protection and more reliable electronic components to extend the Mean Time Between Failures (MTBF). This module was installed as the Open Indicator for the Platform Screen Door (PSD) in the MTR NABCO type PSD along the Tseung Kwan O Line (TKL).

SmarTone is a leading telecommunications company in Hong Kong, providing voice, multimedia and mobile broadband services, as well as fixed fibre broadband services for the consumer and corporate markets.

Product for Redesign: Telecom Station Battery Discharge Unit

This unit was developed to replace the Ericsson battery discharge unit, which is no longer in production. Our design features multiple channel connections, differing from the original design, and the unit’s size is required to be 30% smaller than the original.
